AMIS – The Association for Music in International Schools "AMIS" is dedicated to the promotion of excellence in all levels of music education. AMIS sponsors a variety of non-competitive music festivals annually which are especially designed to benefit students in international schools. During the 2009-2010 academic year, ASB will seek to send delegates to AMIS Festivals in Shanghai, China (Middle School Honor Band), Ankara, Turkey (High School Band and Choir), and Jakarta, Indonesia (Middle School Girls’ Choir). Admission into the ensembles is via a highly competitive audition process. Those students accepted into the festivals are required to commit to afterschool rehearsals to be determined by the band and choir director.
